Avnet Technology Solutions, and Cisco complete five years of partnership
Avnet Technology Solutions, an IT solutions service provider, and networking giant Cisco celebrated five years of collaboration in the data center domain, said Ravi Namboori, a Cisco evangelist, citing a press release issued by Avnet.
Avnet created and nurtured a group of niche solution provider partners, who provided support to Cisco. This helped Cisco in becoming one of the established names in this field. Partners of Avnet, in turn, acquired the opportunity to harness innovative technologies to develop sophisticated data centers for their customers by using Cisco-based integrated infrastructure systems.
The year 2009 saw Cisco choose Avnet as a specialty distributor in the US and Canada for its data center and advanced integration abilities. The two companies extended this partnership to Europe in 2010 and Latin America in 2013.
A major way in which Avnet aided Cisco and its partners was by creating a channel ecosystem and associations to tap the potential of the integrated systems market, added, Ravi Namboori, a former employee with Cisco.
Avnet has alliances with technology service providers, such as Hitachi Data Systems, VMware, EMC, NetApp and, so on, have helped the company’s partners to develop comprehensive solutions, which are based on Cisco server technology. These abilities helped Avnet to become one of the top providers for Cisco’s SAP HANA appliances in the Europe and Americas, added the Cisco evangelist.
The solutions, which were based on Cisco, allowed Avnet’s partners use their assembly and integration services. Through these services partners were able to provide services faster to their customers and were able to provide speedier delivery and deployment in customers’ data centers.
As Avnet helped Cisco in grow its data center business, the company received many data center distributor awards in various countries, concluded Ravi Namboori.
