Ravi Namboori, an information technology (IT) professional with over 20 years of experience, is a renowned Cisco evangelist.

He is a Cisco Certified Network Professional holding seven certifications from Cisco. He has MCSE +IP certification and is also a Caldera Certified Linux Administrator, He holds Cisco certifications as an Internet work expert, academy instructor, voice professional, and design professional. This are in addition to his Microsoft and Novell certifications.

Ravi Namboori, settled now in Bay Area, California, graduated from DNR Autonomous College in Bhimavaram, India in electronics and communication.  

More recently, he earned a master of business administration (MBA) degree from the F. W. Olin Graduate School of Business of Babson College in Wellesley, close to Boston, Massachusetts.  

His tryst with software began in the Indian city of Hyderabad, where he had a stint as a network administrator with Point Soft company. He held a similar position Metamor Enterprise Solutions. 

He also worked with Satyam Computer Services as a senior network administrator again in Hyderabad. Working in a managerial role in various other companies in India helped him enhance his network management and operations skills.

His role with these companies saw Ravi Namboori configuring routers and frame-relay networks; refining existing, non-existing, and proxy servers. It also needed him to act as a negotiator between Cisco Academy Training Center and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT).

 

When he felt that he was not doing enough justice to his capabilities in India, he shifted to Holland, where he joined Hewlett-Packard (HP) as a network manager. He is credited with being responsible for the design of the local area network (LAN) and its call center systems facilities as well. He implemented Cisco Unified Intelligent Contact Management solutions as per client specifications, in addition to working on HP’s external websites.

Ravi Namboori’s relocation to Silicon Valley in United States proved to be his gateway to fame. Here, he worked with Atheros Communications, the earlier name for Qualcomm Atheros. He was a senior network manager here. At Applied Materials, he was a senior network architect.

 

Namboori earned a directional position for the first time when he joined Harmonic Incoporated in Sunnyvale, California. He was responsible for implementing many new systems here. He served as directorof IT with Glu-Mobile in San Mateo, California. Here, his stint saw him put in place many short and long-term IT policies, which were in sync with the business strategy of the company. Besides, the global network infrastructure at Glu-Mobile was redesigned him

 

As IT director of EMC in Santa Clara, California, Ravi Namboori was instrumental in design and implementation of a global voice over Internet protocol (VOIP) system in the bargain saving the firm’s yearly telecom expenses by about 50 percent. He reduced the yearly expenses of the company by more than $2.5 million. This he did by renegotiating contracts of the domains of telecommunications and hardware.

At Bravara Communications, a gateway vendor based in Palo Alto, California, Namboori connected successfully office systems through a Bravara router and related systems.

Other experiences of his IT career include handling various protocols, such as security, networking, SPAS (SharePoint as a service), LaaS (Lab as a Service), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), etc. Ravi Namboori has designed many innovative systems, which include a LAN and setting up of a technical-assistance call center.

Also in his expertise are extensive knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, IT outsourcing and customer support, post-merger-and-acquisition integration, etc. Namboori also monitored network operations of data centers, campus infrastructure and voice applications, storage area network/ network-attached storage (SAN/NAS) storage, information security, and telecom.

 

Ravi Namboori is skilled with the usage of industry standard software and hardware as Cisco Call Manager, Cisco UCS GSR, and Juniper M10. He deployed many industry standard processes like Agile, Six Sigma, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) at many companies.

He is a consultant at present with Unigen Corporation, with which he has been associated from mid-2013.

 

His notable achievements include implementation of programs for Amazon.com Web services, in addition to consolidation of its telepresence by linking its services with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and establishment of an IT steering committee, which would serve the company’s IT requirements.
